Privacy notice.
Who we are
Forerobe is a private wardrobe service (“Forerobe”, “we”, “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described here. For anything about your privacy, write to hello@forerobe.com.
What this notice covers
This notice explains how we handle personal information collected through forerobe.com, and, in outline, the information we hold for the people we dress. Clients receive fuller terms in their engagement agreement.
What we collect
When you write to us, through the enquiry form or by email: your name, email address, telephone number if you give it, who the enquiry is for, how you would prefer to be contacted, and anything you choose to tell us in your message.
If you become a client: the details needed to dress you and those who travel with you, such as sizes, fit and style preferences, travel dates, destinations and the addresses where a closet is to be prepared, and a record of what was worn. Where a child travels with you, we hold only what is needed to dress them, and only with the consent of a parent or guardian.
When you visit the site: our host keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising tools.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a private consultation.
- To provide the service you engage us for, including buying, preparing and delivering your clothes.
- To keep our records accurate, meet our legal and accounting obligations, and protect the security of our systems.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Consent and legal bases
We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, or as otherwise permitted by law, in keeping with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial law. Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation applies, we rely on: steps you ask us to take before entering an agreement, and the performance of that agreement; our legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and running our business carefully; compliance with legal obligations; and your consent where we ask for it. You may withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits.
Who sees it
Within Forerobe, your information is seen only by those who need it: your stylist, the second stylist named to you, and the few people who support them, all under confidentiality obligations. Every engagement begins with a non-disclosure agreement.
We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract and only for that purpose, including Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which hosts this website and delivers the enquiry form to us by email, and our email provider. Where a closet is prepared at a hotel, residence or other property, we share with them only what is needed to receive and place it. We may disclose information where required by law.
Where it is kept
We are based in Canada. Because the service travels with you, and because some of our providers are located elsewhere, including the United States, your information may be stored or processed outside your country, where local law may differ. Where the GDPR applies, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are deleted within 24 months. Client records are kept for as long as you remain a client and afterwards only as long as needed for legal, tax or accounting purposes, or to resolve a dispute. You may ask us to delete your records sooner, subject to those obligations.
How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, organisational and technical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information, including restricted access and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will tell you, and the relevant authorities, of a breach where the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to withdraw your consent. Where the GDPR applies, you may also ask us to delete or restrict it, to object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable form. Write to hello@forerobe.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the data protection authority where you live or work.
Children
This site is not directed to children. We collect information about a child only from a parent or guardian, and only to dress that child for a journey.
Changes
We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change is significant, we will tell our clients directly.
